International Shipping Runners and Gaslininsieme

Siccardi e Bregante Law Firm had the privilege of attending the thanksgiving ceremony held at Fondazione Gaslininsieme ETS, on the occasion of the donation made by the International Shipping Runners Association in favour of the haematology-oncology ward of the IRCCS Giannina Gaslini Children's Hospital.

The firm was represented by Attorneys Angelo Merialdi and Pietro Dagnino, and by Dr. Giacomo Desirello Poggi, alongside Assagenti, First Marine Insurance S.r.l. and media partner Ship2Shore. The donation, totalling a record amount of €13,345.00, was directed to the ward led by Prof. Carlo Dufour for the year 2025, in support of research and care for young patients.

The funds were raised by the Association throughout 2025 through two major sporting events: the Genoa Shipping Ride and the Genoa Shipping Run. Siccardi e Bregante Law Firm took an active role in the initiative as organiser and co-sponsor.

The firm extends its heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to the organisation and success of this charitable initiative, and looks forward to welcoming friends and supporters to the next edition of the Genoa Shipping Run, scheduled for the weekend of 22–24 May 2026.

Attorney Francesco Siccardi Receives the "Mariano Maresca" Award from The International Propeller Club – Port of Genoa

On 2 December 2025, Attorney Francesco Siccardi was presented with the prestigious "Mariano Maresca" Award by The International Propeller Club – Port of Genoa, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development and promotion of maritime law at both national and international level.

During the ceremony, Attorney Siccardi delivered a highly regarded address entitled "Evolution and Change in International Maritime Law between Innovation and Tradition", reaffirming the depth and contemporary relevance of his expertise in a constantly evolving field. His lecture skilfully combined academic rigour with practical insight, drawing considerable interest from those in attendance.

The event also served as a warm occasion to celebrate the approaching Christmas season in the company of a distinguished audience of professionals, colleagues and friends from the Genoese maritime world and beyond.

7th Edition of the Genoa Shipping Run: Over 130 Runners Cross the Finish Line for the Gaslini Hospital

The seventh edition of the Genoa Shipping Run concluded with great success, drawing the participation of over 130 runners of all ages. The event was one of the highlights of the Genoa Shipping Week, bringing a week packed with international shipping events to a memorable close.

Siccardi Bregante & C. Law Firm was present from the starting line, reaffirming its commitment in support of the Haematology-Oncology Unit of the IRCCS Giannina Gaslini Children's Hospital. The firm's participation is part of a broader social responsibility journey that unites Genoa's maritime community around a cause of great human and scientific importance.

"Shipping Talks": Siccardi Bregante & C. and Kennedys Host a Landmark Event at Genoa Shipping Week 2025

The event "Shipping Talks: (UK) Insurance Act 2015 – Cyber Risks – ESG", jointly organised by Siccardi Bregante & C. and Kennedys as part of the Genoa Shipping Week 2025, with the support of Assagenti and Il Secolo XIX, has drawn to a highly successful close. The initiative brought together approximately 130 members of the international maritime community for a high-level discussion on topics of primary importance to the industry.

The programme covered four key areas:

– Changes introduced by the Insurance Act 2015 in English law compared to the Marine Insurance Act 1906, with particular focus on disclosure obligations, warranties and fraudulent claims;

– A comparative analysis of the above legislative changes against Italian law and other European legal systems;

– The growing risks posed by deliberate acts of GPS jamming and spoofing and their implications for marine insurance;

– ESG and the vessel's lifecycle: sustainable ship finance, energy efficiency and green ship recycling.

The event featured an outstanding line-up of speakers: Corrado Bregante, Pietro Dagnino, Patrick Foss, Chris Zavos, Francesco Siccardi, Francesca Ronco, Rocco Bozzelli, Salvatore d'Amico, Federico Carraro.

7th Edition of the Genoa Shipping Ride: The International Maritime Community cycles and Rows for the Gaslini Hospital

The seventh edition of the Genoa Shipping Ride has come to a close in a spirit of great enthusiasm, bringing together cyclists and rowers from across Europe in Genoa for a weekend of sport, solidarity and great company. The event once again demonstrated how the international maritime community is at its very best when sport and charity come together.

Siccardi Bregante & C. proudly took part as sponsor and organiser of the event, supporting the fundraising campaign promoted by International Shipping Runners in favour of the Haematology-Oncology Unit of the IRCCS Giannina Gaslini Children's Hospital. The Shipping Golf Tournament 2020

Save the date for 10 September 2020 for the 25th Edition of the Shipping Golf Tournament® at its traditional venue, the Golf Club Villa Carolina.

Shotgun start at 1:00 p.m., followed by cocktail time, dinner and live music. For non golfers, there will be the opportunity to take part in an “absolute beginners” trial with two Club Pros.

This will be the first edition without Massimo Canepa: we will do our very best to carry forward what he, together with our Francesco Siccardi, built over a quarter of a century.

The Shipping Golf Tournament 2019

This is the traditional golf event dedicated to the Italian and international shipping community. An impressive 14 sponsors, both Italian and foreign, supported the event, held—as always—at the Villa Carolina Golf Club in Capriata d'Orba (AL), where the atmosphere and hospitality are always top-notch. It was a day dedicated to sport, with a Stableford competition and an 11 a.m. shotgun start, but also to fun, especially for those trying golf for the first time with the help of the club’s professional instructors. This year’s competition was played on the scenic and charming Paradiso course.
Adding to the experience were typical products from Liguria—like classic focaccia, with and without onions—and specialties from Piedmont, particularly mushrooms and excellent local red and white wines. The afternoon offered time to relax with drinks and live music by Mia & Friends. Another successful edition, and one we look forward to topping in 2020—when the tournament will celebrate its 25th anniversary, no small milestone!

Genoa Shipping Run 2019

As part of Genoa Shipping Week 2019, the Firm’s lawyers, together with International Shipping Runners, promoted the traditional Genoa Port Run, a roughly 7 km training run “at an easy pace” through the historic heart of the City and the Port of Genoa. The special guest was champion Valeria Straneo (silver medalist in the marathon at the 2013 World Athletics Championships). On the occasion, funds were raised in support of the activities of the Hematology Unit of the Gaslini Pediatric Hospital in Genoa.
